Dearly Beloved

When I was very young, my preschool was a ministry of the church I grew up in. I’m not sure about you, but I remember my preschool teacher very well. I still even call her ‘auntie Cheryl’ when I have the privilege of running into her occasionally. Auntie Cheryl loved Jesus and helped instill a foundation of biblical truth in my heart as a very young child.

We have an exciting update in our Children and Families Ministries: Abi Markham has joined our staff as giving pastoral leadership to our CPC Kids ages 0-5. Pastor Abi will be with us part-time and we know she will be a great blessing to our preschoolers and parents. She is passionate about Jesus and discipling our children in His Word and ways. Please make sure to give her a high-five when you see her next!

Hi Church Family! I’m so excited to be joining the team at CPC as one of the family ministries pastors alongside my husband, Garrett. I’ll be focusing specifically on any of the kids who are kindergarten-age and younger. So, if you have babies, toddlers, and kindergarteners, I’ll officially be their Pastor! I fully believe that it’s so important to begin teaching children how to pray and worship starting in the nursery. We know that children are always paying attention, and they pick up on everything (haha), so why not start introducing them to these important things that will be fundamental to their relationship with Jesus? 

God can speak to children even at a very young age. There is no junior Holy Spirit! Just the other day, I was teaching the 4 & 5 year olds and I had the children close their eyes and encouraged them to listen to the voice of God, and they were so still. It was so evident to me that the Holy Spirit was so very present in their lives. So, as I take on this role, I am so excited to partner with parents in the spiritual development of their preschoolers, and am expectant that God is going to move in this ministry.
