Hello Church family!!
Last Sunday I was able to share from the book of Philippians and because I was too long winded (I’m sorry haha) I left out a chunk of my message that I wanted to share with you in this Dearly Beloved Post. Paul, in this letter of joy writes to the church in Philippi about being citizens of Heaven. This season of COVID-19 has been a real struggle for many, this fall in particular is already leading up to possibly more challenges in the near future. Philippians 1:27 tells “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.” So this year as challenges, maybe even hardships come, let us conduct ourselves in a good manner, and continue to have joy and build up each other in love, compassion and encourage each other in unity together as one body. Paul encouraged the believers to be unified, to stand side by side, fighting together for one faith, which is the Good News. Let us maintain this goal this season to have common purpose of serving Christ in all we do.
One way that we can be united and strengthen our church together is to take part in the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality coffee groups this fall. As a church leadership, we are asking members of our congregation to form in groups of three to form better connection, spiritual growth and soul care.
I’m really excited for this fall for our student ministries. This coming Wednesday will be our Elevate Youth Kickoff. We are inviting all youth that are in Grades 6-12. We will have tons of fun together with games, fun and some PIZZA!!! Join us at 6:30 to 8pm. Elevate Youth will be moved back to the Fellowship Hall downstairs. I look forward to seeing everyone. I have had a few questions in regards to COVID guidelines, this season we will not require pre-registration but we will still require students to wear masks.
Over the coming few months we will be having special Sunday night ministry that will be designated for specific age groups such as ministry to kids, preteens, junior highs and senior highs. Stay Tuned!!
Lastly, the Island PAOC Youth Pastors are putting together a Youth Fall Retreat that will be happening this October 1-3 at Nanoose Bay Camp. It is for youth in grades 6 - 12 and the cost will be $75. You can register your teen today by clicking HERE.
Thanks for reading!
Cheering you on, Pastor Trevor
