Merry Christmas! Do you remember anticipating Christmas Day as a child? It seemed to take F O R E V E R to finally arrive. Well, today is that long awaited day.
As we age, our anticipation for Christmas may change, but we still know what it is like to wait for something. In 2020 it is likely that some of your longings found fulfillment. I know a significant one did for me. For a handful of years I longed to live and serve on the Island again. That's why we called our family Christmas Eve service " Isle be Home for Christmas" :) Our family is thrilled to be here with you. You know what it is like to have one longing fulfilled, and still have others you are awaiting.
Perhaps as we look toward 2021 there are hopes, dreams, or even aches in your heart. Christmas reminds us that the coming of Christ is the greatest longing fulfilled, and ultimately every other God-given desire finds it's fulfillment through Him.
As we begin to look toward 2021, I hope faith is rising in your heart. And as you contemplate any longings that are yet to be fulfilled, I want to encourage you with a terrific scripture:
"But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for God my Saviour; my God will hear me." Micah 7.7
Merry Christmas!
